Rainham Hall Project

Murray Birrell was instructed by the National Trust to act as their Party Wall Surveyor in connection with some proposed works by a neighbour which could affect the Grade II Listed building.

The Hall itself dates back to 1729 and is a fine example of an early 18th century merchant’s home. The Hall has had over 50 owners and between 1943 and 1954 was used as a Local Authority Children’s Home. The National Trust had the property tenanted until a major conservation project led to the opening of Rainham Hall to the public in 2016.

Murray Birrell considered the proposed works adjacent to The Lodge of Rainham Hall as part of their appointment under the Party Wall etc Act.
