St Lawrence Jewry

Peter Wade was appointed as the Church Inspector initially to undertake a survey of the church in connection with a possible external refurbishment project which will be partly funded by the City of London Corporation. Murray Birrell has also been appointed to submit a Planning Application requiring a Faculty from the Diocese of London for replacement of defective windows and the main entrance doors.

The Church dominates a stunning location on one side of the Guildhall Yard. The original Church which suffered in the Great Fire was later almost lost in WWII, when only the main walls remained after bombing in 1940. Largely rebuilt in the 1950s, it is the official Church of the City of London Corporation supporting the Lord Mayor of London and Livery Companies.
